ROLLER HOCKEY AT SOUTHSEA SKATEPARK....
Are you looking for a bit more than just skating around the park or along a street? If you are an inline skater why don't you come a have a go at Roller Hockey?
THE HISTORY OF TRADITIONAL ROLLER HOCKEY....
Roller Hockey was born and originally developed in England, reseach indicates that a form of the game was being played in London in the mid 1800's and from around 1900 there is evidence that it was becoming organised.
It was then know as Rink Hockey and in 1904 the National Rink Hockey Association was formed, the name of the game being changed to Roller Hockey in 1949.
In 1924 England was one of the founder members of an International Federation and in 1926 the European Championship was held in Herne Bay, Kent and won by England.
The first World Championship took place in Stuttgart, Germany in 1936 and again England was successful.
Roller Hockey is now played in more than 60 countries. In all five continents and was a demonstration sport at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PLAY?....
To play Roller Hockey you will need the following:

The Roller Hockey Club at Southsea Skate park will be able to lend you a stick.
WHO CAN PLAY IN A TEAM?....
The game can be played by people of all ages. The youngest age you can play in a tournament is 9 years of age!

So you can play Roller Hockey all your life if you wish!
Lastly but no means least you will need lots of enthusiasm!!
