King of Concrete is back!

We are excited to announce after a seven year hiatus that the King of Concrete is back! The annual August Bank Holiday weekend BMX event returns to Southsea Skatepark!

Mark your calendars, August 23-25th.

King of Concrete is a weekend event that caters for almost all different types of riding, we have the legendary Bowls, Spine Mini, Flatland, Vert, Park, and a Highest Bunnyhop competition.

We are shooting for £2000 prize money purse for this year! £1000 for Flatland and Park respectively. We have already had £200 donated by The Lab for Best Trick in the Bowls, £100 donated by both The Pit Stop Cafe, and The Sandwich Bar in Southsea. Thank you!

One for the parents, or young gardeners out there?

Hardy perennials and low growing evergreen shrubs to plant up the new flower bed at the park. Bulbs and ground cover plants also welcome.

If you have any plants you can donate, please bring them into the park with the roots well wrapped in damp paper or soil and in a plastic bag.. we’ll get them planted up as quickly as we can and then nurture them with love.

Starting the week off with some good news! The local Police c/o Snap have kindly donated £500 towards the skatepark! Thank you!

Good Friday – 10-12, 12-6, 6-8. (You can do 12-3, or 3-6 if you wish..)

Saturday/Sunday – 10 – 6 as normal.

Monday through till Friday Open on Tuesday. 10 -6 everyday. Open 6-8 on Wednesday and Friday.

Holidays run from Friday 29th March till Sunday April 14th.

Skatepark Price Changes from 1st April 2013.

Single Sessions:

Prices stay the same.

Double Sessions:

12-6 – Adults £6.50.

Under 18′s and Leisure Card £5

So thats still cheaper than if you did the sessions separately!

An exciting opportunity has become available at Southsea Skatepark!
The cafe is now out to tender, you could have your business in the heart of Southsea, open to Southsea Common and of course the Skatepark!
The skatepark is in a prime location, exciting events during the summer months, in house and externally.
The café is out to tender, copies of the concession document are available from the park (as of saturday 16th March) or call Chris Richards on 07957107431.

Springtime is on it’s way. After a hard winter down in Southsea. We are getting the park ready for the spring/summer. During the last fortnight, by popular demand. The fence/barrier the bandstand side of roller rink has come down, which opens up the whole skatepark! We are recycling some of the railings from cutting down the fence/barrier for use as portable rails in the skatepark, stay tuned for more updates!
